Roamio help

Buy, install, connect.

A simple guide to your purchase, your delivery email, and getting mobile data working on your phone.

Before you pay

1

Check your phone

Use an unlocked phone that supports eSIM. Check the exact model, purchase region, and carrier. On iPhone, Settings → General → About → Carrier Lock should show “No SIM restrictions”.

2

Check your plan

Confirm the destination, data allowance, validity, and when the plan starts. For regional plans, every country you visit must be in the selected package’s coverage list.

3

Confirm in checkout

Checkout opens on Roamio’s service storefront. For eSIM, select the matching search result again. Check the order summary and enter an email you can access. VPN and storage subscriptions renew: review the billing period before paying.

eSIM packages are data-only unless the selected plan explicitly says otherwise. Keep your usual SIM for your existing number, or use internet messaging apps for calls and messages.

After purchase: check your email

What to look for

  1. Order or payment confirmation. Save your order reference and check the service and amount.
  2. Service access or welcome details. Look for account instructions and links to your purchased service.
  3. For eSIM: installation details. Look for your QR code or activation details, device instructions, and the plan’s start rules. These may be in a separate message or available through your account.

Keep the installation email private. A QR code is access to your eSIM; do not post it or share it with others.

Can’t find the email?

Check Spam/Junk and Promotions, then search for “Roamio”. Make sure you are checking the email address entered at checkout.

Open your account and check My Services. If payment succeeded but you cannot find the service or installation details, contact support with your order reference and purchase email. Do not purchase the same plan again while checking.

Wait for the instructions for your actual package. Installation and activation are different steps, and some plans start earlier than others. Do not assume installation is safe weeks before your trip.

Set up your phone

Install on Wi-Fi. Connect when your plan says.

Have your delivery instructions ready and use a reliable internet connection. Menu names vary by phone and software version.

iPhone

  1. Open Settings → Cellular (or Mobile Data) → Add eSIM → Use QR Code.
  2. Scan the QR code from another screen or a printed copy. On supported iOS versions, you can also press and hold a QR code in an email or browser and choose Add eSIM.
  3. Follow the prompts and label the new line Roamio Travel.

QR code on the same phone? Display it on another device, or use manual installation if your delivery details include an activation code. Use only the values provided with your purchase. Do not delete an installed eSIM: transfer and reinstallation may not be available.

Turn on your travel data

  1. Follow your plan’s activation timing. Check the delivery instructions before switching it on.
  2. Select Roamio for mobile data. iPhone: Settings → Cellular/Mobile Data → Cellular Data. Samsung: Settings → Connections → SIM manager → Mobile data. Pixel: Settings → Network & internet → SIMs, then choose the travel SIM for data.
  3. Set roaming on the correct SIM. Turn on data roaming for the Roamio eSIM if your plan instructions require it. Turn off data roaming on your usual SIM. Turn off automatic mobile data switching to reduce the chance of using your home SIM for data.
  4. Test your connection. At your destination, turn Wi-Fi off briefly and open a webpage. If it loads, your mobile data is working. Turn Wi-Fi back on whenever you want.

Keeping your usual SIM enabled can still lead to charges for calls or texts under your home carrier’s terms. Check with your carrier if you need to receive calls or messages abroad.

No mobile data?

  1. Confirm you are in a country covered by the exact package.
  2. Check that the travel eSIM is enabled and selected for mobile data.
  3. Check roaming and any APN instructions in your delivery details.
  4. Toggle airplane mode on and off, then restart the phone if needed.
  5. Check remaining data and expiry in your account.

If you are still offline, connect to Wi-Fi and contact support with your order reference, phone model, destination, and the error shown. Do not send passwords, payment details, or your QR code publicly.
